From standardizing the products of motor manufacturers, we can find that there are some differences in the shape, height, end hole number and position of the air hoods of motors of the same series, same center height, different pole number and different power. The difference and fine design of the air path of the motor will be reflected in the air hoods. The final match of product performance may not be entirely the use of copper and iron, It may also be reflected in these small, not every manufacturer pays attention to the link.
Some cognition about the motor hood:
If the motor is operated indoors, it is relatively simple to make; but if the motor is operated outdoors, which is what we call outdoor motor, we should consider its special requirements of moisture-proof, dust-proof and rain proof.
For vertical installation of protective outdoor motor, on the one hand, it is necessary to ensure the ventilation and heat dissipation of the motor, that is, to install fans and hoods, but there will be ventilation holes on the hoods. In order to prevent rain from entering the motor in rainy days, we will add a rain cap above the hoods, so as to prevent the direct invasion of rain.
This rainproof measure is like an umbrella on a rainy day. In more cases, the rainproof cap and the wind shield are welded together by welding, which not only does not interfere with the ventilation and heat dissipation of the motor, but also plays a necessary protective role, and does not lose the overall aesthetic feeling of the motor.

The function of the motor hood:
It is intuitively understood that the wind shield is a part of the fan blade of the shield motor. The most direct function is to separate the fan from the outside and play the most basic safety protection role. Especially for the aging fan, once the fan breaks, it will cause great harm to the human body and surrounding objects in the use environment. Specifically, there are also some technical functions.
1. Protection level requirements. For example, if the protection level is IP54 and IP55, the first number is to prevent solid immersion in the enclosure and to prevent people from touching dangerous parts in the enclosure. The hood is to prevent foreign matters from touching the fan; the second number represents the liquid protection ability of the motor.
2. Control the wind path. The motor with fan is in self cooling mode. The function of the fan cover is to guide the main wind generated by the fan to blow along the fan cover and the radiator (distributed in a circle) to the shaft extension end, so as to take away the heat of the radiator. If there is no hood, the wind generated in the process of fan rotation is unrestricted and free, which will not have a good heat dissipation effect.
3. Others. Fan and hood are closely related. Different fans are equipped with the same hood, and the same hood corresponds to different fans, which will have different effects. When it comes to ventilation and heat dissipation, it is related to the efficiency index and noise index of the motor.
